Pham Thai Son earned his Ph.D in Cities and Societies (2010) at National Institute of Applied Sciences of Lyon (INSA Lyon), France. Since 2014, he has been working at Vietnamese-German University as Senior Lecturer in Urban Economics of Sustainable Urban Development program. He has been working on a number of research and consulting projects on Urban Planning, Urban Development, Urban Economics, Public Transport, Urban Resilience, Livable City, Transit-Oriented Development, Real Estate Market, Housing, Public Space and Capacity Building. He is also an urban development expert for World Bank, UNDP and UN Habitat in Vietnam. Especially, since 2022 Son has been acting as Project Manager of UN-Habitat for project “Institutional Strengthening and Capacity Building for Sustainable Urban Development in Vietnam” (ISCB project) funded by SECO.
